On this Moreton Island Dolphin Discovery Cruise option you can be picked up and returned to one of the Gold Coast central pickup locations with comfort and ease in the lead up to and follow a big day on Moreton Island. Aboard a comfortable coach, you'll depart the Gold Coast en route to Brisbane where you are to catch the cruise over to Moreton Island - a scenic and relaxing 75 minute journey. While on the island, you'll have the chance to explore the wildlife rich area of the Moreton Bay Marine Park. Home to a range of marine animals including dolphins, turtles, dugongs and tropical fish, this is an exceptional tour not to be missed.

The cruise will get the opportunity to spot the curious and playful dolphins that frequent the waters off the island while also learning about their habitat, diet, behaviour and more. You will be in awe of the incredibly scenic Moreton Bay region, which is overflowing with natural beauty. As we depart from the Marina to start the adventure at the island, you will be provided with tea, coffee and biscuits.

Once on the island you can jump into the water to enjoy a snorkelling tour with experienced guides available for assistance. Snorkel the Moreton Island Wrecks and embrace all of the colourful animals that have since made these purposefully sunken ships home. The Wrecks of Moreton Island have become somewhat of an icon in the region attracting visitors locally, nationally and internationally. While at the wrecks, observe the local fish accumulate as they get fed. Then explore the rusting ships before coming back to the beach to enjoy a delicious, fresh smorgasbord lunch and free time to do as you please.

This is a full day tour that is well worth it. Combining natural and man-made beauty with the vibrant marine life that calls this island home. Book your cruise with transfers from the Gold Coast online today to avoid missing out.

Rachel Mugg 2 months ago We didn't go on the nicest day, but it was awesome, we saw a couple of turtles, dolphins and a dugong. It was pretty rough snorkelling around the wrecks, so didn't stay in the water as long as I could of, but did see quite a few fish, Loved the lunch, good selection. Can get a bit squishy if its raining and everyone is downstairs under cover, probably the only negative thing.

Great day
Megan Clark 2 months ago

Great day. Was picked up from and dropped off at Gold Coast which was really convenient. The weather started off a bit wet so the order of activities was changed to accommodate this and by the time the weather had cleared it was perfect for snorkelling. The reefs were great. Sooooo many fish. Saw a dragon, sea turtle and dolphins. So relaxing and loads of fun.

I really loved the boat experience
Anna Molengraft 2 years ago

I really loved the boat experience, unfortunately, there was little sun on the day we went. To improve for winter months, adding wetsuits would be helpful! Overall great tour and friendly guides!

We went with a group of 8 people

We went with a group of 8 people, and really enjoyed ourselves! Everything was run very smoothly and all of the crew was helpful and very aware of safety. Everyone was extremely friendly and informative as well. Lunch was great, with great food. All in all, it was a great day!

Very enjoyable cruise
Kalaichelvan Shanmugam 3 years ago

Very enjoyable cruise, I had gone there with my 2yr old toddler and 5-month-old son. The crew made sure we were never left wanting. As for the snorkelling bit, I suggest the tour operator would consider those not snorkelling to spend time on the island instead. Else those that do not snorkel just sit on the boat. Other than that highly recommend this tour.

This was a great experience
Jennifer 3 years ago

This was a great experience! I would recommend anyone traveling alone or with their family to do this! The crew on board was really friendly, outgoing and informative. We got to see everything that was promised! It was a beautiful island and the best part of the trip was the snorkel. I felt very safe with the crew members in the water and looking out at us at all different angles. This was truly an amazing experience and I would recommend this trip for any one.

Aside from having a bit of trouble understanding the difference between the cruises
David 3 years ago

Aside from having a bit of trouble understanding the difference between the cruises, when ordering, we had a great time. 2 adults and a 15 year old teenager. The snorkling was really great. The brand new boat was neat and clean. There was a good atmosphere and the captain was good at entertaining. The downside was the the spotting of dolphins. I thought I had bought the "swim and feed dolphins"-cruise, so when the captain helped us spot dolphins 100-200 meters away, we were confused, that we didn't go any closer... Also after visiting the island beach with the freshwater stream, the cruise went straight home, without feeding any fish or dolphins...

A pretty nice day to start with our driver being a friendly & courteous man
Tony 3 years ago

A pretty nice day to start with our driver being a friendly & courteous man. Weather was good when the boat moved off for the snorkelling near the ship wrecks. Nice & big colourful fishes around. Beach walk is nice & sand dune even thrilling for the daredevil. On way back to port, unfortunately we were unable to see any dolphins &/or sea turtles. So it was quite disappointing for everyone onboard. The ride was very bumpy in the middle part of the ride & smooth out when closer to shore. Overall nice experience, F&B ok, hope the dolphins & sea turtles can be seen in future trip. Thank you.

My very first experience to see wild dolphins
John Chan 4 years ago

My very first experience to see wild dolphins, and I was lucky enough to spot 3 times on the way to Moreton Island, & 2more times on the way back, the weather was good & the tour guides are well knowledgeable & quick to spot dolphins, turtles and pig-nosed dolphins, the boat will stop for longer depending on the spotting of this marine wildlife, as a guaranteed promise to ensure that we have an enjoyable and memorable experience. The tour guides are very lively, so during the whole cruise, you will never get bored, lunch is provided, although looks like limited variety, it is a hearty and healthy meal size enough for every adult. The free-roaming time of 1hr is so relaxing to go to sand dunes mountains, choice of swimming or just suntanning or simply build sand-castles before heading back to the boat is just amazing. This cruise is an all-rounder, very worth it.

Pack your beach bag and put on your swimmers and get ready for a day of snorkelling and exploring Iconic Moreton Island!
