Spend the day exploring the beautiful Maria Island just off the coast of Tasmania with this day tour with a delicious picnic lunch. Departing Hobart with a one-hour scenic drive to Triabunna, you'll board a ferry to embark on a venture across the water to Darlington on Maria Island. From here, you'll spend the morning exploring some of its best attractions including the beautiful Fossil Cliffs, and Bishop and Clerk, while also having the chance to spot local wildlife such as wombats and wallabies.

Throughout the day, you'll be treated to a fresh morning tea accompanied by tea and coffee, and a delicious locally-sourced picnic lunch to be enjoyed either outdoors or in a World Heritage Listed convict building.

After lunch, you'll embark on an afternoon tour to the vibrant Painted Cliffs, with an informative guide to help you along the way pointing out various points of interest and sharing information and facts on the region. Come the afternoon it will be time to wind down and there's no better way to do so than with a wine and dine on the island. You'll be served some local premium wines as you relax by the beach, searching for local marine life.

At the end o the day you'll begin the return journey back to Hobart with a full stomach and a full camera roll. Maria is a wonderland of discovery with towering mountain peaks, dreamy white beaches, bird-rich forests and ancient, fossil-rich cliffs, and this picnic lunch day tour from Hobart is one of the best and most comprehensive ways to explore it.
