Experience the best of Picton and the Queen Charlotte Sound with the informative E-Ko Picton Experience. From 10am you'll be transported around the region where you'll learn all about it from your experienced guide and explore some of the most beautiful sites. Stopping at a handful of iconic sites, you'll embark on various personalised tours of the region's most popular destinations. The first stop New Zealand National Whale Centre where you can learn all about these giant animals that have featured in New Zealand's economic and cultural life for centuries. Other sites visited in the morning include the Picton Heritage and Whaling Museum and Edwin Fox Ship and Visitor Centre, both historic and educational visits to help you learn more about the region's rich history.

Break up the site seeing with a lunch break at one of Picton's most treasured cafes, The Wave Café and Courtyard, a highly rated joint popular within the Picton community. Be sure to build up your energy levels with a delicious lunch as the afternoon brings with it even more exploring. After cruising along the beautiful Marlborough Sounds you'll make a stop at the Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary. While on board the comfortable vessel you'll learn all about the region as well as seeing some incredible wildlife. With a 90% encounter rate you'll have the chance to see NZ fur seals, Hector's bottlenose dolphins, dusky dolphins and numerous seabirds. After cruising through the sounds you'll dock at Motuara Island to embark on a 1-hour walk through nature. With the option of following a guide or exploring on your own, you can spot the resident blue penguins, rare saddleback, melodic bellbirds and yellow-crowned parakeets.

After you've done all the exploring you can you can sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful view with a hot drink and cookie as you make your way back to Picton.
